Refund & Returns Policy

LD POWER MARINE

Last Updated: 30 October 2026

Thank you for choosing LD POWER MARINE.

We aim to provide reliable marine engines and related products, together with accurate product information and professional customer service.

Because marine engines are high-value, technical products that may be new, used, refurbished, special-order or custom-configured, our returns process depends on the condition of the product and the reason for the return.

This Refund & Returns Policy explains the circumstances in which products purchased from LD POWER MARINE may be returned, replaced, repaired or refunded.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to products purchased directly from LD POWER MARINE through our website, quotation process, telephone, email or other approved sales channels.

Products may include:

  • New marine engines
  • Used marine engines
  • Outboard engines
  • Inboard marine engines
  • Diesel marine engines
  • Petrol marine engines
  • Engine packages
  • Marine engine accessories
  • Engine components and parts
  • Special-order products
  • Custom-configured engine packages

Different return conditions may apply depending on the product.

2. Consumer Rights

If applicable consumer protection legislation applies to your purchase, you may have rights that cannot be excluded by this policy.

Depending on the circumstances, these rights may include remedies where a product:

  • Is not of acceptable quality
  • Is not fit for a disclosed purpose
  • Does not match its description
  • Does not match a sample or demonstration model
  • Does not meet a consumer guarantee that applies to the transaction

Where a statutory consumer guarantee applies, LD POWER MARINE will provide the remedy required by applicable law.

Our return policy does not remove or reduce your statutory rights.

3. Change-of-Mind Returns

Because marine engines are high-value products and are often ordered, prepared, inspected, configured or transported specifically for a customer, we generally do not accept change-of-mind returns unless we agree to do so in writing.

A change-of-mind return may include situations where:

  • You ordered the wrong engine.
  • You selected the wrong horsepower.
  • The engine does not fit your vessel.
  • You purchased the wrong shaft length.
  • You selected an incompatible engine configuration.
  • You no longer require the engine.
  • You found another product after placing your order.

Customers are responsible for confirming that the engine is suitable for their vessel and intended application before purchasing.

Where we agree to accept a change-of-mind return, additional conditions, restocking charges, inspection fees, transportation costs and other reasonable costs may apply.

4. Used Marine Engines

Used engines are sold according to their described condition, specifications, photographs, inspection information and any specific disclosures provided at the time of sale.

Because used marine engines may show signs of previous use, including cosmetic wear, paint deterioration, corrosion, scratches, marks, replacement components or other normal signs of use, these characteristics do not necessarily constitute a defect.

Before purchasing a used engine, customers should carefully review:

  • Engine specifications
  • Engine hours, where available
  • Photographs
  • Service history, where available
  • Inspection reports, where available
  • Serial/model information
  • Included accessories
  • Compatibility information
  • Warranty information
  • Any disclosed faults or limitations

Where a used engine has been sold with specific known faults or limitations disclosed before purchase, those conditions will be taken into consideration when assessing a return or refund request.

5. New Marine Engines

New engines must be returned in accordance with the applicable manufacturer’s warranty and our return requirements.

If a new engine is found to have a manufacturing defect or another issue covered by an applicable warranty or consumer guarantee, we may arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include:

  • Repair
  • Replacement component
  • Replacement engine
  • Refund
  • Another remedy required by applicable law or the manufacturer’s warranty

Warranty claims may require inspection by LD POWER MARINE, the manufacturer, an authorised technician or another qualified service provider.

6. Engine Compatibility

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding their vessel and intended installation.

Before purchasing an engine, customers should confirm:

  • Horsepower requirements
  • Engine dimensions
  • Weight limitations
  • Shaft length
  • Mounting requirements
  • Steering compatibility
  • Electrical requirements
  • Fuel system requirements
  • Cooling requirements
  • Exhaust configuration
  • Transmission or gearbox compatibility
  • Propeller requirements
  • Controls and instrumentation
  • Manufacturer requirements
  • Vessel compliance requirements

Where requested, LD POWER MARINE may provide general product information to assist customers. However, unless expressly agreed in writing, customers remain responsible for confirming final compatibility with their vessel and installation requirements.

An engine that is unsuitable because incorrect vessel or installation information was supplied by the customer may not qualify for a change-of-mind return.

7. Incorrect or Misdescribed Products

If you receive a product that is materially different from the product you ordered or the product description provided at the time of purchase, please contact us as soon as possible.

Examples may include:

  • Incorrect engine model
  • Incorrect horsepower
  • Incorrect product supplied
  • Missing components that were included in the purchase
  • Material differences from the agreed specification

We will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement, repair, refund or other suitable remedy.

8. Damaged Products on Delivery

Customers should inspect the engine and packaging as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If an engine arrives with visible transport damage:

  1. Photograph the packaging before opening it where possible.
  2. Photograph the engine and any visible damage.
  3. Record the delivery condition.
  4. Notify the delivery carrier where appropriate.
  5. Contact LD POWER MARINE as soon as possible.
  6. Do not attempt major repairs or modifications before we have had an opportunity to assess the damage.

We may require photographs, videos, delivery documentation, inspection reports or other information before determining the appropriate remedy.

9. Reporting a Problem After Delivery

If you believe your engine has a defect or problem, contact us promptly.

Please provide:

  • Your name
  • Order or invoice number
  • Engine model
  • Engine serial number, where available
  • Date of purchase
  • Description of the problem
  • Photographs or videos where useful
  • Any relevant diagnostic information
  • Details of installation and use

Providing this information helps us assess your claim more efficiently.

10. Installation and Modification

Customers should ensure that engines are installed by suitably qualified or experienced marine technicians where appropriate.

Returns, warranty claims or other remedies may be affected where a problem has resulted from:

  • Incorrect installation
  • Incorrect wiring
  • Incorrect plumbing
  • Incorrect fuel-system installation
  • Incorrect cooling-system installation
  • Incorrect exhaust installation
  • Incorrect propeller selection
  • Incorrect controls
  • Incorrect engine alignment
  • Overloading
  • Misuse
  • Neglect
  • Lack of maintenance
  • Unauthorised modification
  • Improper storage
  • Operation outside manufacturer specifications

This does not affect any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Unauthorised Modifications

Customers should not modify, dismantle, rebuild, alter or repair an engine before contacting LD POWER MARINE where the issue may be covered by warranty or another return remedy.

Unauthorised modifications may make it difficult to determine the original cause of a problem.

Where an authorised inspection or repair is required, we will advise you of the appropriate process.

12. Special-Order and Custom Products

Some engines, engine packages, accessories and related products may be ordered specifically for a customer.

Special-order or custom-configured products may not be eligible for change-of-mind cancellation or return once procurement, preparation, modification or shipment has commenced.

This does not affect any applicable statutory consumer guarantees or other rights under applicable law.

13. Cancellation Before Dispatch

If you wish to cancel an order before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible.

Where an order has not yet been processed, prepared, modified or dispatched, we may be able to cancel it.

However, if the product has already been specially ordered, prepared, modified, allocated or shipped, cancellation may be subject to applicable costs or the terms agreed at the time of purchase.

14. Returns Authorisation

Do not send an engine or other product back to us without first contacting LD POWER MARINE and receiving return instructions.

Unauthorised returns may be delayed while we identify the customer, order, product and reason for return.

Where a return is approved, we will provide instructions regarding:

  • Return address
  • Transport arrangements
  • Packaging
  • Documentation
  • Inspection requirements
  • Freight responsibilities

15. Return Condition

Unless the return relates to a defect, incorrect product or another circumstance covered by applicable consumer law, products approved for return should generally be:

  • In the condition in which they were supplied
  • Complete with included components
  • Accompanied by relevant documentation
  • Properly packaged for transport
  • Free from unauthorised modifications
  • Free from avoidable damage

Because engines are heavy and specialised products, customers should not arrange return transportation until LD POWER MARINE has provided return instructions.

16. Return Freight Costs

Responsibility for return freight depends on the reason for the return.

Where the product is defective, incorrectly supplied or another remedy is required under applicable consumer law, LD POWER MARINE will handle reasonable return transportation costs in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

For approved change-of-mind returns, the customer may be responsible for:

  • Return freight
  • Collection charges
  • Packaging costs
  • Inspection fees
  • Restocking charges
  • Other reasonable costs associated with the return

Any applicable charges will be communicated before the return is finalised where reasonably practicable.

17. Inspection of Returned Engines

Returned engines may need to be inspected before a refund, replacement, repair or other remedy is determined.

Inspection may include:

  • Visual inspection
  • Serial-number verification
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Compression testing where appropriate
  • Operational testing
  • Inspection for physical damage
  • Inspection for corrosion
  • Inspection of electrical systems
  • Inspection of fuel systems
  • Inspection for unauthorised modifications
  • Verification of included components

The inspection process may vary depending on the engine type and the reason for the return.

18. Refunds

Where a refund is approved, the refund will generally be made using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

The timing of a refund may depend on:

  • Completion of our assessment
  • Return and inspection of the product
  • Payment-provider processing times
  • Banking processing times
  • The applicable refund remedy

We will notify you once a refund has been processed.

19. Deposits and Payments

Some marine engines may require a deposit or payment before procurement, preparation, customisation or dispatch.

The treatment of deposits and payments may depend on:

  • The product purchased
  • Whether the product was specially ordered
  • Whether custom work has commenced
  • Whether the order has been dispatched
  • The terms stated on the quotation or invoice
  • Applicable consumer law

Any non-refundable deposit terms will be communicated to the customer before payment where applicable.

20. Warranty Claims

Where a manufacturer warranty applies, warranty claims may be subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

Warranty coverage may require:

  • Proof of purchase
  • Engine serial number
  • Service records
  • Evidence of correct installation
  • Evidence of proper maintenance
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Inspection by an authorised technician

Warranty coverage may vary between manufacturers, engine models, new and used engines, and different purchase arrangements.

Customers should review the applicable warranty documentation supplied with their engine.

21. Exclusions and Limitations

To the extent permitted by law, returns or warranty claims may not apply to damage caused by:

  • Misuse
  • Abuse
  • Neglect
  • Accidents
  • Incorrect installation
  • Improper storage
  • Incorrect maintenance
  • Running without adequate cooling
  • Contaminated fuel
  • Incorrect fuel
  • Overheating
  • Overloading
  • Incorrect propeller selection
  • Unauthorised modifications
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Corrosion caused by environmental conditions
  • Damage occurring after delivery that is not attributable to us
  • Use outside the manufacturer’s specifications

These exclusions do not apply where doing so would unlawfully exclude or limit a consumer guarantee or other mandatory legal right.

22. Refund Processing Time

Once a refund has been approved, we will process it within a reasonable period.

Your bank or payment provider may require additional processing time before the funds appear in your account.

We cannot control processing delays caused by banks, card issuers, payment processors or other financial institutions.

23. Product Exchanges

Where appropriate, we may offer an exchange instead of a refund.

Any exchange will depend on:

  • Product availability
  • Product condition
  • The reason for the exchange
  • Applicable warranty or consumer rights
  • Any price difference
  • Shipping and handling requirements

Where an exchange product has a different price, the applicable price difference will be addressed before the exchange is completed.
